Oakland, CA – According to the Mercury News, OccupyWallSt protesters camped out in front of the City Hall are being attacked by police with tear gas and violence with helicopters flying overhead.

This morning, police surrounded the protesters and began using tear gas, destroying the Occupy tent city in their wake. At a press briefing held at City Hall at 9:30 a.m., Police Chief Howard Jordan said 75 arrests were made. Throughout the day, police were able to disperse the protesters who continued to regroup.
